Retrofit Assessments

Assembling a retrofit evaluation for a home in line with PAS 2035 is something that retrofit assessors are qualified to do.

The tasks finished as part of the retrofit assessment include creating a RDSAP evaluation (that may be submitted as an EPC), a thorough floor plan, a condition report, and an occupancy assessment.

The Retrofit Coordinator creates a Medium-Term Improvement Plan with the use of the data gathered from these surveys.

A Retrofit Assessor is a vital link in the chain of a successfully submitted proposal to Trustmark since they have substantial knowledge and experience with RDSAP methodology and assessment of existing properties.

The first step in doing a PAS 2035 retrofit assessment is to obtain an official assessment.

Retrofit Designs

All retrofit improvement measures that have to comply with PAS 2035 must be subject to a retrofit design that specifies the performance characteristics of the materials and/or systems to be installed together with clear instructions regarding how they should be installed, including the provision of annotated scale drawings where necessary to confirm specific details.

This is to ensure that the retrofit will achieve the intended outcomes provided that the installer fully complies with the details of the design. It is the responsibility of the Retrofit Coordinator to ensure that an appropriately qualified person is appointed as the Retrofit Designer. Depending on the specialisms required, there may be more than one Retrofit Designer on a project.

Retrofit Coordinators

All retrofit projects carried out in compliance with PAS 2035 are required to have a Retrofit Coordinator, and this position is fully supported by the government and Trustmark.

To guarantee that the retrofit project’s anticipated goals are realised, the retrofit coordinator closely collaborates with retrofit assessors, designers, clients, and Installers. They are in charge of conducting risk analyses for the suggested actions, creating medium-term improvement plans, and producing option assessments for the project.

The Retrofit Coordinator will submit the project to Trustmark once it is finished as proof that the PAS 2035 process was correctly followed.
